A young kid who lives with on his parent's potato farm house, dreams about having something else for dinner, which doesn't include potatoes. To achieve this goal he saves up some money (mostly from collecting old bottles and exchanging them at the store), so that he can finally order a pizza, and share it with the family. As it turns out, bringing the pizza back home from the store is a bit more difficult than originally anticipated... but the kid still keeps going! Not sure why this movie was set in the 1980s (perhaps to show that ordering take-out wasn't so prominent in Finland back then?), but it was entertaining nonetheless, and was a fun short comedy/timepiece - which for some reason was screened at a Museum in Odense (Denmark), where I saw it last week. June 18th, 1815. A man peers from a promontory at the butcher shop on the plain of Waterloo, he is exhausted, has lost everything. From Waterloo, he will never rise again. From then on, history is full of Waterloos, personal or collective. The nocturnal city, a place of ghosts and apparitions, is the hallucinated battlefield of an exhausted Napoleon but perhaps not yet entirely broken. In his nocturnal wandering, the genesis of a defeat is marked step by step, which from personal becomes universal. The moist eye of our Napoleon, tenderly desperate, meets the tangible signs of the near end of our society. But after all, it is a cyclical story of eternal returns of Waterloo followed by Marengo... and so on, for eternity. AWARDS:

November 2029. In the world, in a very short time, “Butterfly 29”, a computer virus that compromises all the systems and platforms of the advanced technology of the planet with a netpandemic, making any form of communication, diffusion and use of any artificial intelligence impossible. And so, in the span of 4 months, in a gigantic blackout propagated with a “domino effect”, all the transmissions of the radio-television apparatus and all the services of the web and the telephony are darkened, which are estimated to have now reached 98.8% of the traffic and exchange of information of the entire western system. Ten years earlier, in 2020, in Italy, the subject Alan Caravaggio was sentenced to 14 years of house arrest for the murder of his wife, which occurred during a lockdown for the biological pandemic known by the name of Covid 19. The narration is set in March 2030 and while the world, having no alternative, returns to meet each other by animating the streets, the squares, the bars and the theaters, Alan Caravaggio is increasingly isolated in his confinement, relating only with the social worker who has the task of delivering him the food, representing his only window on the world.
