Na Cailleacha is a collective of eight ageing women artists based in Ireland, six visual artists, a jazz musician/composer and a writer/curator. Together we explore our experience of ageing, our bodies, our creativity, our place in the artworld and how we relate to our cultures and heritage. 'Seven voices' is my first film for this project which fuses images of ageing skin, hands and the stone surfaces of the coastal landscape, with sounds of the piano and saxophone by Carole Nelson.

Young Peter decides to go hunting for the wolf that's been prowling around the village. Along the way, he is joined by his friends the bird, the duck and the cat. All the fun comes to end, however, when the wolf makes an appearance. Will Peter and his friends live to tell of their adventures?

A romantic horror with a twist. AWARDS:

Swatting at dirty winged desire ... perpetual bondage to Saṃsāra. The flames of wisdom lick the wounds of ignorance clean to the bone. No Flies On Me explores Saṃsāra, chasing the phantoms of our own desire and the fickle and at times mundane repetitive existence and plight of our particular sentient species. As seen through the eyes of our barfly (lead actor) on a night out at his local pub, after a few too many drinks he is cerebrally drawn on a journey into the microcosmic wilder hedonistic parallel barfly world taking place right under his nose. The candle light is symbolic of insight and the guiding inspirational discriminating power of 'source' awareness. The guiding light of wisdom is ever present yet the allure of the shadowy and wild dance of 'blissful ignorance' obscure his cognitive ability to reconnect. The film is a satirical look at modern pop-culture and more sub-cultural fringe lifestyles from secular to the more extreme OTT cliquey forms and their esoteric vs exoteric values with tongue (or should I say proboscis? ;-) firmly in cheek!

The three sleepy children sail in their shoe-boat; they stall briefly on a cloud, then have various troubles with their fishing lines (one lands a fish-like star that ends up squirming in his pants). A star hooks two candy-cane baited lines together. The stars tease the baby while he's hanging overboard. A comet comes through; they catch it in a net and it tows them wildly, until they land in another cloud, where they are tossed by storms, eventually breaking their mast and sending them back to earth (and their bed, where we see they are really one boy).

A personal and vibrant coming of age story about a young artist's determination never to surrender to the bleakness of her surroundings. At 15, Inocente refuses to let her dream of becoming an artist be caged by being an undocumented immigrant forced to live homeless for the last nine years. Color is her personal revolution and its sweep on her canvases creates a world that looks nothing like her own dark past. 'Inocente' is both a timeless story about the transformative power of art and a timely snapshot of the new face of homelessness in America: children. The challenges are staggering, but the hope in her story proves that the hand she has been dealt does not define her, her dreams do.

Two grown daughters seek out the first love of their depressed widowed mother. A very heart felt story with a lot of humanity that has been widely praised. The phenom of later in life of thinking of your first great love - how are they, where are they, do they think of me - is a universal feeling. Praised not only for the film itself but how it broaches the subject of dementia and Alzheimer's.

In Their Room (2009-present) is an on-going multi-city documentary series about gay men, bedrooms and intimacy. The series veers into the bedrooms of men where you see them doing everything from the most banal to the sometimes more erotic. Complimenting the revealing nature of their everyday activities are confessional interviews about fantasies, turn-ons and vulnerabilities. The throughline of the series highlights the ways in which gay men in disparate cultures deal with connection, intimacy and loneliness in the modern world. In an age of accelerated gay acceptance and visibility, it's shocking that many of these stories are being left undocumented. My inspiration for the series came largely out of such a frustration. If representations of my life -and that of my friends- were largely going unseen in the media I reasoned that I should be recording these stories before they were lost or forgotten. I do this as best I can focusing on what feels authentic, modern and uncensored. The series is intended as a long-term, multi-city project with recent episodes filmed in San Francisco and Berlin. Bosko in his scrappy, anthropomorphic plane and a fearsome beast in his awesome, cannon-hauling machine are in a dogfight, and Bosko loses. His plane is vaporized in mid-air, but Bosko's fall is broken by the keys of a piano. Bombs have destroyed most of the house surrounding the piano, but the instrument itself is undamaged. Bosko meets Honey, a French girl who happens to skip by. His piano playing impresses her, but the fearsome beast interrupts his performance by dropping a bomb on him. This time Bosko uses a dachshund for an airplane by spinning its head around like a propeller. Now, with a homemade machine gun and the pickets from a picket fence for bullets, Bosko can't lose.

Stan and Ollie are down on their luck and beg at an old lady's house for food. While they are eating they overhear a villainous landlord (Finlayson) threatening to evict her if she does not pay the mortgage. Not realizing that they are hearing a rehearsal for a play, the boys decide to auction their car to help. In the confusion surrounding the auction, Stan finds himself in possession of a fat wallet and Ollie accuses him of stealing the old lady's money. When the truth is revealed, Stan exacts painful retribution.
