A little girl and her family go on a picnic in the forest. After a joyful time playing, the girl accidentally leaves behind her beloved stuffed toy. It is unexpectedly found by a raccoon, who senses the toy’s deep longing to return to its owner. Moved by this, the raccoon decides to help—and so begins their journey.

The protagonist, influenced by her father's deep admiration and love for pigeons, longs to be cherished by him just like his prized racing birds. However, setbacks in her academic life leave her feeling disappointed in herself, and she begins to fear that her father, like he does with injured pigeons, will no longer take pride in her. In response, she starts to distance herself from anything that reminds her of pigeons, avoiding the connection altogether. One day, a chance encounter allows her to once again see herself through the eyes of a pigeon. Through overcoming numerous inner obstacles, she begins to reinterpret her father's expectations. In the end, she comes to terms with herself, finding peace and acceptance.

In the closed-off school environment of 1990s Taiwan, Xiao Jiang and Xiao Qing meet and fall in love, only to be torn apart by the pressures of society, leading to a tragic end. On the brink of death, Xiao Jiang's consciousness drifts back to memories of the past, caught between love and regret. When she awakens, the world has changed—but the one she loved is gone forever.

Clay Dolls is a stop-motion animated short centered on Taiwan’s traditional bone-collecting ritual. The story follows the protagonist, who was raised by his grandfather—a bone collector—and inherits the family practice after his grandfather’s passing. Today, he performs the ritual himself, personally collecting his grandfather’s remains. As the ceremony unfolds, he is drawn into memories that retrace the emotional bond they shared. In the final moment, as he lifts the urn containing the ashes, the boundary between reality and memory blurs—the urn transforms into the figure of his grandfather, marking their final farewell. Through handcrafted stop-motion animation, the film delicately portrays the ritual’s process and emotional depth, exploring the humanity, familial ties, and cultural meaning embedded in death rites. In this intimate and symbolic farewell, the director invites the audience to reconsider this fading tradition—not merely as a funeral custom, but as a profound response to love and remembrance.

Disorder of Gearwheel is a stop-motion animated short film that tells the story of an elderly man suffering from dementia. Caught in a flowing river of reality and hallucination, he battles both his youthful inner self and a giant fish symbolizing the disease. By blending Taiwan’s 1980s fish hunting culture with a surreal narrative style, the film vividly portrays the patient’s struggle and loneliness amid the breakdown of memory. Running approximately five minutes, it uses handcrafted puppets and meticulously built sets to visualize abstract psychological states, aiming to evoke deep empathy from the audience.

The story is set in Taiwan during the economic boom of the 1960s and 1970s, when many women were forced to sacrifice themselves due to financial pressures at home, carrying regrets for the rest of their lives. The protagonist, “Grandma,” represents countless young women of that era. The animation uses threads and scissors as recurring motifs throughout the film. The entanglement and continuity of thread symbolize the constraints of the past on Grandma, while scissors represent her awakening will—cutting off the obsessions she cannot let go of.

This work is inspired by the Siberian roe deer living on the cold Eastern Plateau, and incorporates ancient local legends of snow monsters. The story tells of a snow hunter in the forest who triggers the revenge of a mythical creature after pursuing a deer. The strange and eerie encounter adds to the human fascination with mysterious folklore.

As war looms, two people from different backgrounds go through a series of choices and changes, facing moral dilemmas and tests of humanity. Their original lives and mindsets are forced to shift, and the goals they see reflected in each other’s eyes begin to intertwine because of the war...

This is a story about appearance anxiety. The doll begins by exploring its surroundings, gradually becoming drawn to external objects, and eventually grows dissatisfied with itself, leading to a transformation. To make the doll appear more lifelike on screen, we combined real locations with live-action footage, creating a world where reality and fantasy seamlessly merge.

The female protagonist grows up in a strict household where her life is meticulously arranged by her family—everything from her diet to clothing is tightly controlled. Over time, she begins to feel the pressure of these constraints. As she matures and leaves home to study elsewhere, she breaks free from her past and gains a newfound sense of freedom. However, she struggles to navigate social relationships and unintentionally distances herself from her peers, who feel overwhelmed by her presence. It isn't until she enters adulthood—starting her own family and raising a child—that she gradually realizes she’s repeating the same patterns. In caring for her child, she begins to impose similar restrictions, just as her family once did to her. Through this, she comes to understand that her family's actions, though restrictive, were rooted in love and good intentions.

Earth’s resources have been depleted, rendering the planet uninhabitable and forcing humanity to abandon it. Years later, as the mothership’s energy nears exhaustion, a reconnaissance team led by Alex is dispatched to explore Earth once more. Upon returning, Alex encounters a world transformed—teeming with unfamiliar ecosystems and guarded by mysterious protectors defending their home. As the mission unfolds, Alex loses team members and is forced to confront not only the unknown, but humanity’s past mistakes…

*Reality of Obsessive* is a 2D animated work reflecting on the phenomenon of modern idol worship. Inspired by the art style of the 1980s, it uses nostalgic visual effects to evoke resonance in viewers. The story centers on a fan obsessed with a music idol. As the idol’s true face is revealed, the protagonist experiences emotional struggles between ideals and reality. The motivation for this work comes from real-life observation and personal experience, focusing on how today’s younger generation becomes lost and reflective within social media and fan culture, making it highly relevant to contemporary society. Additionally, this project echoes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Through visual storytelling, it aims to cultivate media literacy and critical thinking, guiding audiences to approach idol culture with rationality.

In relationships with both family and friends, it’s inevitable to encounter some unpleasant moments. Words or actions spoken in a moment of emotion may unintentionally cause harm. After the passing of the mother, the busy father and daughter are left behind. On the daughter’s birthday, the father forgets to prepare a gift due to work. When he accidentally ruins her scarf, a conflict arises between the two.

A young boy accidentally breaks a taboo while folding spirit money and unknowingly crosses into the underworld, where he encounters a teenage grim reaper. Since the boy’s time in the mortal world is not yet up, he becomes a target for capture—prompting the two to embark on a daring escape. As they face life-and-death trials along the way, the grim reaper, who had never allowed himself to feel for anyone, begins to develop emotions. And with those feelings, their fates quietly begin to change.

A flamboyantly muscular samurai crosses a winding bridge and arrives at a mysterious gate. There, he is confronted by a fierce sumo wrestler. Their eyes lock, and without a word, an intense battle begins. What drives them to fight? Is it honor, revenge, or something far deeper hidden behind that door? The clash will reveal not only their strength—but the true reason they stand opposed.

The protagonist is a chef. One day at work, a series of strange events occur. He doesn’t take them seriously. But as he focuses on cooking, he sees a vision of his past self and suddenly realizes he has been preparing unsanitary, unhealthy food for his customers. Panicked, he denies responsibility and wants to escape, but cannot change the truth. In the end, the appearance of his grandmother helps him understand that everything he’s done must be paid for.

The protagonist, guided by a psychological counselor, explores their subconscious and confronts their familial trauma. Ultimately, by recalling past dreams, they use the power of music to seek inner peace and heal the wounds they once suffered.

This 2D Computer explores the emotional weight of signing a Do-Not-Resuscitate agreement. After a young boy falls into a coma from a car accident, he becomes trapped in his own mental world while enduring the pain of emergency treatment in real life. His parents learn that even if he survives, he will remain in a vegetative state. As they struggle with the decision to sign the DNR form, they recall a memory of flying a kite with their son—telling him not to chase after a broken kite. When they witness their son's suffering within his subconscious, they find the strength to let go and make the heartbreaking decision with love and understanding.

After being discouraged by his parents and having his dream of becoming a firefighter denied, a young boy discovers that the heroic paper firefighter he once drew has miraculously come to life. When a cigarette butt sparks a fire that threatens a miniature world, the boy, along with the tiny inhabitants and his paper hero, finds the courage to fight back. Through this act of bravery, he regains his confidence and reignites his dream of becoming a real firefighter. The animation uses imaginative visual storytelling to explore resilience, belief, and the power of childhood aspirations.

In the fast-paced rhythm of the city, a food delivery rider tirelessly races through day and night for work—unknowingly missing out on precious moments with his father. One day, he takes off into the sky in his self-modified flying delivery bike, only to spark a thrilling chase across the urban skyline. As he’s pursued by the police, the high-speed pursuit becomes more than just a race—it becomes a journey of reflection, as he searches for balance in life and rediscovers the value of connection and emotion.

“POETRIX” (2026) is a short art experimental animation that was inspired by my dystopian novel “The smudge” (Taxideftis, 2021). It is about the interaction of conscious and subconscious, how the subconscious is formed in the course of life and can affect our actions and consequently the world. It all begins with a nightmare that triggers a repressed trauma to resurface and brings the main character “The Creature” face to face with itself as well. The character, wishing to be free from fear, does a brave deep dive into the subconscious and goes on an inner journey, like falling into a different Hades, to face the nightmare head on. On the way, it finds what has been repressed, what could have caused its heartbreaks and oppression, socially and personally, such as traumas, stereotypes, anything external that could have disoriented it from its path while obstructing it from listening to its inner voice. During this journey, various questions arise, such as what is really trapping it from reconnecting with itself: Being trapped in its own mind? Being trapped in a system that alienates, consumes the individual in its mechanism and is made for human machines? An awakening process begins and the character experiences emotions, such as pain and anger. The mind then pushes the body into motion in search of a solution. It wonders if the disasters in the world and in nature are caused because the world within has been reversed, reflecting this anomaly, which results in destruction and self-destruction. At some point, it encounters the “Magical Creature” that resides within, its inner voice, which symbolically makes a purgative and atoning sacrifice, so that the main character can change perspective and find a way out of its mental cage, aiming for Regeneration and for a new beginning. Technically, I combine images with written words and music, so that they represent the course and the “magical” transformations in a subconscious, dreamy and irrational world, as a poetic metaphor. The editing was realized in two phases. The first, working with the photographer Katerina Cheiladaki on an Apple pc. 'Stolen Secret Recipe' is a 2D animated short centered on themes of misunderstanding and reconciliation. The story follows a conflict between an old chef, his apprentice, and a new restaurant owner, driven by prejudice and appearances. It highlights how people often misjudge others based on looks, leading to tension and false assumptions. Through emotional storytelling and visual metaphors, the film reveals how empathy, communication, and open-mindedness can resolve conflict and foster personal growth. With warm visuals and a heartfelt narrative, the animation encourages self-reflection and meaningful dialogue.

When all hope is lost, a woman must overcome her overwhelming urge to give up, or live in a cycle of disappointment forever.
