Given the irony of his soon ending life's unexpected turn, he burns the ticket to ashes. As Joe meets his fate and falls asleep he encounters Rose who encourages him to accept life’s unexpected turns. Is it a dream, the afterlife or something in between? We don’t know until… The next morning, as Joe wakes up and life provides another irony of fate as he realises, he is alive. A call from Dr. Davis sheds light on the miracle.

Inspired by surrealist and structuralist filmmakers, plastic poem is assembled like a wordless concrete poem incorporating sound collage and chiaroscuro images of plastic sprues, the manufacturing byproduct of tabletop gaming figurines. Play is central to its conception, however, the film itself actively rejects narrative structure in favor of treating original images as “found” objects themselves, arranged and repeated as a series of poetic devices in stanzas. This abstraction allows for aesthetic investigation and political critique to occupy the same arena, and the two tend to confuse each other: structured play vs. the superstructure.

'ghost towne™' is an experimental short film that examines the current state of the American project through the lens of an unassembled hobby model kit depicting an idealistic nineteenth century American Main Street. Set to a monologue from Thornton Wilder’s 'Our Town' by the play’s omnipresent narrator (Hal Holbrook, 1976) in a “make-believe” cemetery, the film scrutinizes American paranoia, morality, and historical optimism during a contemporary moment that ruthlessly exhumes and redeploys the nation’s darkest pastimes. 'ghost towne™' is the filmic culmination of an ongoing multi-disciplinary art project by artist M. Carson Day, and was made partially with select footage from a 2025 installation and performance piece entitled, 'a pie left cold in Our Towne™,' which was inspired by the great American roadside attraction.
