I had the chance to try making a new type of film called “In-Ear Cinema.” This kind of film tells the story using only sound—such as background noise, music, and conversations—without any video or images. The film I created is called "Not Human, But..." The story is about two teenage boys who meet up to hang out at Siam Square. While there, they see an ad for a new kind of tutoring school. They decide to try it out, and in the end, they find out that the teacher is actually an AI.

at your disposal, while finding home

2015 • 45 min

'at your disposal, while finding home' a multimedia art project that featured interviews with people from around the world, asking "where and what is home?" Participants were given a disposable film camera to photograph their surroundings, their concepts of home, or whatever they felt like documenting. The first interview occurred in Reykjavik (March 2012). The project continued over the course of two years, eight months, and six continents with the final interview in Seattle (November 2014). This documentary film (completed in 2015) was also a part of the project.

an observance of absence

A documentary that blends interior and exterior spaces left vacant and dilapidated by the abandonment of Central and Eastern Pennsylvania's anthracite coal region, with similarly neglected interior and exterior sites in postindustrial Central and Eastern Europe. The score, composed by Adam Parks (Lightning White Bison), is comprised of manipulated field recordings from both regions of the world, layered with ambient organ and synth instrumentals. Visual and sound contributions by Dan Stauffer.

There is a departure in the air, the destination of which no one seems to know.

The myth here says that who dreams of snakes, will argue with their husband the next day. Dreaming of music, brings good news instead. This is the home of Elisa Taboada and her family. She is campaigning in the regional elections as a community speaker, aiming to bring more attention to women’s rights.
