The images do not attempt to mimic the music, they dialog with it. Music recorded in TivoliVredenburg for VPRO Vrije Geluiden: music program made by the Dutch public broadcast organization VPRO. The portrait, in motion, of an artist in action. The process of creation, in the moment in which it takes place, following, in the editing (instinctive, not mediated, like Maurizio L'Altrella’s painting), the criterion of the original temporal order: a sort of jump cut of a " piece "of life. The portrait is "temporal", also in reference to the human condition that can be represented. Original/Alternative Title: ritratto temporale I - Maurizio AWARDS:

Arcangelo Corelli's Concerto "Fatto per la Notte di Natale” magnificently performed in concert by Quadro Janas (Sardinia, 2007). I first created a work in progress while listening to that music "with my eyes.” I extracted almost 4 thousand images from it and posted them in 4 albums on Facebook. Then I made an image sequence with those images, and used it to “augment” the work in progress, culminating in this "Quadro Janas & Corelli” movie. My work is made to create a dialog between images and music which leaves a space in which viewers can enter, and this often requires that the images and the music do not mimic each other. - Jean Detheux
