Rooted with Wings is a visual dance documentary that explores the work of internationally acclaimed choreographer and dancer Tero Saarinen, granting the viewer a unique impression of this extraordinary artist’s creative process. The film follows Saarinen over a five-year period through several premieres of new works in Finland, France, Korea, Kenya and the US, while bringing to light his approach to his life as a global nomad in dance. In a turbulent world fetishizing technology and change, Saarinen embraces a philosophy of awareness, presence in the moment and centered physicality. In Rooted with Wings, movement takes center stage; Saarinen’s own words, the physicality of his dances, as well as the urban and natural worlds blend into a seamless whole in which the momentum never stops.

A one way journay. A spinning wheel. A moving clock hand. A falling tear. The train has gone. The wheel has spinned. The clock hand has mooved. The tear has fallen. And emptiness remains in your eyes, that emptiness encloses your story. What it was, what it could be and what it would become. All is trapped by time that it stands sovereign and silently decides your fate. And one by one memories slide away of that life you took for granted, from little things weren’t able to carch. Too busy running, you will realize that the goal you dreamed of will never arrive. Behind, just an empty street. In the distance increasingly blurred, the memories of a lost life. In your gaze, a bitter awareness of the impotence of changing what has been, but with the possibility of making tomorrow what you would do if you could relive your yesterday. From this it develops the story of a grandpa. Trapped in memories of his past, he will realize that he is slowly losing even the certainties of his present. One of these is his little nephew, with whom he has always had a very strong bond, but his parents, underestimating the importance of human relationships for work reasons, will take him away. This begins the toughest challenge for him, the one with loneliness that can only be won when he is able to ask for help. AWARDS:

Growing Strong is a story about a 15-year-old-girl named Lily who is emotionally and physically abused by her father - Wes. After yet another heated argument with Wes, Lily manages to escape her family home in Chicago and finds refuge at her grandmother's horse farm in Midway, Kentucky. Upon the arrival to the farm, Lily finds herself in a rather peculiar environment: her grandmother, Rosemarie, is a spiritual woman who meditates, eats a vegetarian diet, and reads metaphysical books. Despite the seemingly peaceful atmosphere, Lily is haunted not only by the constant threat of Wes coming after her, but also by the psychological effects of the abuse that manifest themselves in flashbacks and nightmares. Unable to deal with the anxiety, Lily turns to alcohol and drugs to repress and numb her emotions. Sam, a local boy whom Lily meets on the farm, becomes an accomplice as Lily plots her next move. The only thing that stands in a way of Lily's self-destruction is Rosemarie whose wisdom and strength are forces much stronger than the pain and fear inflicted by Wes.

Marvin Loback goes to meet his wife's French cousin at the docks and takes him around the city.Pollard and Loback were two good comedians whom the Weiss Brothers stuck together in the waning days of silents to make a series of buddy comedies. They modeled them on Laurel ^ Hardy and they are not remembered fondly because they.... well, they weren't Laurel & Hardy. The Weisses figured that people were so hungry for the two Hal Roach comics they wouldn't notice. They did. The two leads had no chemistry. That doesn't mean the shorts were bad. The fact that this comedy *ahem* borrows liberally from PUTTINZG PANTS ON PHILLIP (wit no kilt) and THE BATTLE OF THE CENTURY (with no pies) doesn't make it a poor comedy. Indeed, the final third of this movie played to Pollard's strength as a gag comedian, with him in the ring fighting a much stronger opponent. On his own terms, his comedy timing was great.
