Synopsis
Among Dreams SCULP Project SCULP is a cinematographic project created by the director Joaquim Pavão around the sculptures from the collection of the International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture - MIEC. In SCULP is constructed a dystopian narrative where, in a context of struggle for human survival on planet Earth, the free will of most human beings is replaced by the “right will” established by a small group and communicated to each individual by a voice generated in an algorithmic system. One Project, three art objects: SCULP_SONHOS | SCULP | AMONG DREAMS Three cinematographic pieces to enjoy in different ways. SCULP_SONHOS (MIEC, 2020) is the result of an invitation made by MIEC, aimed at museum audiences; a cinematographic work on display that can be seen fully, interrupted, interpolated or initiated at any time. It will act as a book of poetry that one opens on a page and reads an excerpt. Each scene has its own life and force, and all are arranged as articulated cells in a dystopian universe. There are references to the fictional world proposed, small dialogues and monologues that suggest but do not explain. Here, more important than the narrative, is the suggestion, the disquiet with which one intends to provoke the spectator. SCULP (in production) is a feature film to be distributed by cinemas and other distribution channels, aiming the general public. The film tells the story of the inhabitants of a survival system that humans create, in a context of catastroph
