It is a hot summer afternoon when 22-year-old Julian drives to a flea market on the outskirts of Trelleborg, Sweden. The flea market is being held in a large tent in a garden. When he arrives, he is drawn to a mannequin being sold by a quiet, foreign woman.

The purchase includes a burlap sack and a sheet of instructions on how to take care of the mannequin. Without reading the instructions, Julian drops the paper on the ground and leaves the flea market with the mannequin.

When evening falls and he is back at his small one-bedroom apartment, strange things begin to happen. It soon becomes clear to him that what he brought home is anything but an ordinary mannequin, and that the instructions he left at the flea market may have been his only chance of understanding what he has gotten himself into.
