Synopsis
*Reality of Obsessive* is a 2D animated work reflecting on the phenomenon of modern idol worship. Inspired by the art style of the 1980s, it uses nostalgic visual effects to evoke resonance in viewers.
The story centers on a fan obsessed with a music idol. As the idol’s true face is revealed, the protagonist experiences emotional struggles between ideals and reality.
The motivation for this work comes from real-life observation and personal experience, focusing on how today’s younger generation becomes lost and reflective within social media and fan culture, making it highly relevant to contemporary society.
Additionally, this project echoes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Through visual storytelling, it aims to cultivate media literacy and critical thinking, guiding audiences to approach idol culture with rationality.
