Synopsis
They have been told so many times : "real men don't cry" that now, men have lost their ability to cry; and with it, their ability to feel emotions in a healthy way. The strongest emotion of all: joy, has therefore become toxic to them and now, a disease is spreading whose main symptom is tragicomic: laughing kills the sick person.
Melvin, a former comedian, joins the Institution: a place of care where he is promised to take away his ability to laugh forever, if he agrees to follow a gruesome treatment. Between choosing to never laugh again or dying in the near future because of his emotions, Melvin is trapped in an oppressing dilemma.
