An investigator is called to a remote farm deep in the Black Forest, where a boy disappeared in the night. Shortly after arriving, he discovers that nothing there is as it seems. The boy was never gone—but is afflicted with an illness that only the devil transmits: the grïmnes!

"The Grïmnes" is a black-and-white silent horror film in the tradition of early German works such as "Nosferatu." The film draws inspiration from the authentic setting of a Black Forest village circa 1850, the attention to detail in the sets, and an experimental soundtrack created specifically for the film, which performs narrative functions alongside the camera.
