In this AI experimental short film by 14-year-old director Pi Wang, we are invited to cross the boundary between the real and the generated, and to enter a space where birds, nature, and humanity resonate in quiet dialogue.

The director has had a deep love for nature since childhood, with his journey spanning multiple countries as he followed birds through forests, mountains, lakes, and wetlands.
The film is composed of both real bird footage he recorded during these travels, and AI-generated visuals created from his own field notes and sketches, forming a poetic interplay between feathered reality and imagined vision.

How have birds inspired humanity’s dream of flight? And how should we respond to their gradual disappearance?
In these images co-created with algorithms, we see not only the director’s unique journey as a birdwatcher, but also a quiet yet passionate love for the environment, life, and the ethical attitude he holds towards the technology: use it to bring more children and lovely birds a more beautiful earth.
