A group of students from Brera Academy experiences the February 2020 italian lockdown, related to the Covid19 pandemic, diaristically filming their present: some of them find themselves forced to live together, others find refuge within family walls. Shooting of the portrait dedicated to the painter Angelo Falmi is interrupted; enthusiasm for this experience which has just begun drops rapidly. New emotions and new questions are rampant in the renewed daily life of the students; life, in the midst of its fragile grandeur, has priority over projects and aspirations: this is how the teacher of shooting techniques Ilaria Pezone decides to reinvent the project offer. In accordance with Rayo Archive, the photographs collected in it are shared with students to draw creative ideas, trying to imagine the others’ lives, belonging to the past. The two diaries (1982/2002) filmed by Angelo Falmi thus become the narration of a past that can belong to the strangers faces immortalized in the photographs; the present is an intertwining between the act of painting by Falmi and the act of filming the students. Unexpectedly, when the seeds were scattered, the dialogue sprouted.
