SAM (30s), a night-shift grocery worker leads a secluded life with a secret passion for music and a yearning for acceptance. After a failed attempt to connect with her co-workers, she stumbles upon a public piano and a message that prompts her to record a song. Over the next few nights, she wrestles with self-doubt but eventually records a song about her longing for connection. In an attempt to win over her colleagues, she plays it to them, but they choose to ignore her. Defeated, Sam returns to the piano to find Georgie (70s), the cleaner from work that she never noticed, waiting for her with a violin in hand. Together, they write a song, signalling the beginning of a beautiful, music-filled friendship.
