Synopsis
Sawyer, a quiet teenage boy, moves with his family from a small town in Texas to the big city. He loves everything about the country and is always seen wearing a cowboy hat and listening to country music. Sawyer attends his new school for the first time, where he is bullied for his western appearance. In the hallway of his school, Sawyer sees a flier for a country club hiring new workers. Thinking that a country club is a club for people who love all things country, he excitedly runs home to tell his mom, who is distracted by unpacking from the move and doesn't realize Sawyer's mistake.
Sawyer gets an interview with the manager of the country club, Ms. Bailey, who clocks Sawyer’s confusion and decides to give him the job anyway as a prank. When Sawyer starts his first day at his new job, he realizes what a country club actually is and is very disappointed. He is assigned to wait on a crotchety retired movie producer, Mr. Clyde, who is extremely rude to him. Sawyer comes home from his first day extremely distressed and down. His mom notices, and he tells her he wants to quit. She encourages him to keep trying and follow through with his commitments, and Sawyer decides to give the country club another try.
The next day, Sawyer discovers that Mr. Clyde isn’t as bad as he thought. As they participate in activities at the country club, Mr. Clyde realizes that Sawyer is a good kid and a hard worker. Sawyer learns that he was being hypocritical by judging Mr. Clyde before gett
