Plagued by night terrors following her mom's traumatic death, Tess escapes to a new city in hopes of a fresh start. Her mom's inheritance gives her the opportunity to live freely for a while, so she pays 3 months rent up front to secure a room in a shared apartment with a seemingly promiscuous and cold-hearted roommate, Jordan. Later she learns that Jordan comes with a group of eclectic friends in whom she eventually finds solace. Despite Jordan's obnoxious demeanour, Tess finds herself developing feelings for her after experiencing a moment of comfort and safety in Jordan's arms after an aggressive night terror episode.
